Alkaline and Acid Food
A pH level measures the acidity or alkalinity. A pH 0 is totally acidic, while a pH of 14 is completely alkaline. A pH of 7 is neutral. Life on earth depends on appropriate pH levels in living organisms and cells. Human life requires a tightly controlled pH level in the serum between 7.35 and 7.45 to survive.
Most high-protein foods and nearly all carbohydrates are acid-forming, and most fruits and vegetables are alkaline-forming. Note that an acid or alkaline-forming tendency in the body has nothing to do with the actual pH of the food itself. For example, lemons are very acidic, but the end product they produce after digestion and assimilation are very alkaline, so lemons are alkaline forming in the body. Likewise, meat and nearly all animal products are alkaline before digestion but they leave very acidic residue in the body.
Our typical diet consist of meat and dairy products that tend to increase the acidity of our blood, so our body need to work extremely hard to create alkaline blood range. But what happens then? To make balance and neutralize the acids, our body extracts alkaline minerals like calcium, potassium and magnesium from bones and organs. If this is a long-term process it can damage your health.
The body requires approximately 20% of the diet to be derived from acid-forming food. High acid-forming diets that cannot be properly digested lead to Acidosis that will weaken the health and energy of every human cell in the body.
